A popular quebecois dessert which is basically dough balls in warm maple mixture (will add photo soon). Heavenly when enjoyed with vanilla ice cream. We do not put any sugar in the dough, unlike other similar recipes, since the maple syrup already makes it sweet enough.

Tips:

  • When making the maple syrup, use a candy thermometer to ensure the syrup reaches the correct temperature. This will help prevent the syrup from crystallizing.
  • If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can use the cold water test. To do this, drop a small amount of syrup into a glass of cold water. If the syrup forms a soft ball, it is ready.
  • If you want a thicker syrup, boil it for a longer period of time. However, be careful not to overcook the syrup, as it can become bitter.
  • When making the pancakes, use a non-stick skillet or griddle. This will help prevent the pancakes from sticking.
  • To make sure the pancakes are cooked evenly, flip them only once.
  • Serve the pancakes with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Maple syrup is a delicious and versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of recipes. From pancakes and waffles to cookies and cakes, maple syrup adds a unique flavor and sweetness that is sure to please everyone.
