Tips:

  • Use Granny Smith Apples: Granny Smith apples are the best choice for apple cake because they hold their shape well and have a tart flavor that pairs perfectly with the sweet cake batter.
  • Peel and Core the Apples Thinly: This will help the apples cook evenly and prevent them from becoming mushy.
  • Toss the Apples in Lemon Juice: This will help prevent the apples from turning brown.
  • Use a Bundt Pan: A Bundt pan is the best pan for baking apple cake because it allows the cake to cook evenly and creates a beautiful presentation.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing the batter will make the cake tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the Cake Until a Toothpick Inserted into the Center Comes Out Clean: This will ensure that the cake is cooked through.
  • Let the Cake Cool Completely Before Frosting: This will help prevent the frosting from melting.
