KID FRIENDLY MEATLOAF WITH NO ONIONS

Kid Friendly Meatloaf With No Onions image

My nephew won't eat anything with onions (or any other veggies) in it, so I had to create something new, fast, and that he would be familiar with. I came up with this. Now, everytime I baby sit for him, we make it together. There is onion powder in this meatloaf, but don't tell my nephew!!

"My husband, Wayne, asks for this meat loaf all the time," reports Edna Lauderdale of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. "We like it spicy, so we use hot sausage rather than mild. Slices are terrific drizzled with ketchup, served with mashed potatoes and gravy, or in meat loaf sandwiches the next day."

RESTAURANT-STYLE MEATLOAF (NO BREAD CRUMBS)

Restaurant-Style Meatloaf (No Bread Crumbs) image

This meatloaf is from the Chez Melange Restaurant in Redondo Beach, CA., and is definitely worth the extra steps. It has a wonderful mellow blend of flavors that makes it really taste like it came from a restaurant. It's unusual in that in doesn't use bread crumbs as a filler and this was done for the texture, years before the "low carb craze." I've frozen it both cooked and uncooked, and texture does not suffer.
