MEDITERRANEAN DIP

Mediterranean Dip image

This is a Trader Joe recipe. It is such a delicious dip! I took it to a party and everyone wanted a copy of the recipe. The recipe suggests layering the ingredients into a pie plate or something sized similar. I made the mistake of thinking that was too big for the dip and used a smaller serving dish. By the time I was finished layering the ingredients, it was too full! I served this dip with pita crackers from Trader Joes, but you could use your own favorite dippers. This recipe looks unusual but it is knock out.

Tips:

  • Use fresh artichokes: Fresh artichokes have a more vibrant flavor and texture compared to canned or frozen ones.
  • Trim the artichokes properly: Remove the tough outer leaves and the sharp tips of the leaves to make the artichokes easier to eat.
  • Cook the artichokes until tender: Boil or steam the artichokes until they are tender but still hold their shape.
  • Use a variety of herbs and spices: This will give the dip a more complex flavor profile. Some good options include garlic, lemon zest, oregano, thyme, and paprika.
  • Don't over-process the dip: A slightly chunky texture is ideal. If you over-process the dip, it will become too smooth and lose some of its flavor.
  • Serve the dip with your favorite accompaniments: Some good options include pita bread, crackers, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

Mediterranean artichoke dip is a delicious and versatile appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its creamy texture, tangy flavor, and beautiful presentation, this dip is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
