Homemade

I got this from a friend who is following the Feingold diet. We are trying to cut out artificial flavoring and coloring. This lets my kids eat jello, one of their favorites, without the added coloring. Cook time is refrigeration time.

Tips for Making the Perfect Jello

  • Use cold water: Always use cold water when making jello, as it helps the gelatin to dissolve more easily and prevents the jello from becoming cloudy.
  • Dissolve the gelatin completely: Make sure to whisk the gelatin into the boiling water until it is completely dissolved. Any undissolved gelatin will result in a lumpy jello.
  • Chill the jello until it is set: Allow the jello to chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving. This will give the jello time to set properly and develop its full flavor.
  • Unmold the jello carefully: To unmold the jello, dip the mold into a bowl of warm water for a few seconds. Then, run a knife around the edges of the mold to loosen the jello. Finally, invert the mold onto a serving plate and gently shake it until the jello releases.

Conclusion

Jello is a classic dessert that is easy to make and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its variety of flavors and colors, jello is a perfect treat for any occasion. Whether you are making a simple fruit jello or a more elaborate layered jello, be sure to follow these tips to ensure that your jello turns out perfectly.
