BREAD PUDDING IN THE MICROWAVE

Bread Pudding in the Microwave image

I have no idea where I got this recipe, but it is handwritten in a small book where I saved recipes back in the mid-80s. I haven't made this in ages, but I do recall I used to make it a lot. I think I will make it again today! :-) Ordinary sandwich bread works fine, or use a spiffier bread to make a spiffier pudding. Serve with a vanilla custard sauce, whipped cream, or even ice cream.

MICROWAVE BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING

Microwave Bread and Butter Pudding image

I foudn this recipe yesterday and made it stright away. I am posting it so that I don't lose the recipe as it can be made last minute. I used the end of the challa, instead of brioche. Use whatever you have handy. I think next time I might pop it under te grill for that crispy topping you don't get in the microwave.

Tips:

  • Choose the right bread: To achieve the best texture for your bread and butter pudding, select a slightly stale loaf of white bread. This will help the bread to soak up the custard evenly and prevent it from becoming too soggy.
  • Use high-quality butter: The butter in the recipe is essential for adding richness and flavor to the pudding. Opt for unsalted butter so you can control the amount of salt in the dish.
  • Don't overmix the custard: Overmixing the custard can cause it to become thin and watery. Stir the ingredients together just until they are combined.
  • Bake the pudding until the custard is set: The pudding is done baking when the custard is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This usually takes about 30-35 minutes in the microwave.
  • Let the pudding cool slightly before serving: This will allow the pudding to set and make it easier to slice.

Conclusion:

Microwave bread and butter pudding is a quick and easy dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients and a few minutes of your time, you can have a delicious and comforting treat that the whole family will love. Whether you are looking for a classic dessert or something new to try, microwave bread and butter pudding is sure to please.
