No other fudge I've tasted comes close to the smooth, chocolate taste of this recipe, which my mother-in-law introduced me to one Christmas (I've never been able to make it as good as she does, though). Since it makes such a large batch, I always save some for last-minute gifts. -Gloria Heidner, Elk River, Minnesota

Categories     Candies

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 c sugar
1 can(s) evaporated milk (milnot)
2 stick margarine
2 8 oz. milk chocolate hershey bars
2 c pecans, in pieces

Steps:

  • 1. Mix sugar, margarine, milk in large skillet.
  • 2. Bring to boil over medium heat. Boil for 16 min. (important to cook on medium heat). Remove from heat.
  • 3. Add Hershey bars & stir until dissolved & mixed well, add nuts. Pour into lightly buttered pan. I use pam spray. This is good while still warm & after its cooled!!!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate: The better the chocolate, the better the fudge will be. Look for chocolate with a high cocoa content (at least 60%).
  • Don't overcook the fudge: Fudge is done when it reaches a temperature of 235 degrees Fahrenheit. If you overcook it, it will be grainy and dry.
  • Let the fudge cool completely before cutting it: This will help to prevent it from crumbling.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in a cool place: Fudge will keep for up to two weeks in the refrigerator or up to three months in the freezer.
  • Get creative with your toppings: You can top your fudge with chopped nuts, sprinkles, or even bacon bits. Get creative and have fun!

Conclusion:

Million-dollar fudge is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a fudge that is sure to impress your friends and family. So next time you're looking for a sweet treat, give million-dollar fudge a try. You won't be disappointed!
