5 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
1-1/4 cups sugar, divided
1-3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1 cup water

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the apples, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Transfer to a greased 8-in. square baking dish. , In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and remaining sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. 6 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
TOPPING:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1 large egg, lightly beaten
Vanilla ice cream, optional

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup oatmeal, not quick
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
