1 quart vegetable oil for deep-frying
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 cups apples - peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup cinnamon sugar

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or electric skillet to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

1 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg (beaten)
1/3 cup milk
1 cup apple (diced)
1 cup cooking oil
confectioners' sugar (for dusting)

Steps:

  • Measure and sift all dry ingredients.
  • Beat eggs and milk together; slowly incorporating the dry ingredients.
  • Add the chopped apples.
  • In a heavy skillet on the stovetop, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat.

3 -4 tablespoons oil
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup sour cream
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 granny smith apples
1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • Pour enough oil into an electric skillet so that the bottom is well covered, about 1/8" deep. Depending on how fast you are, either turn the skillet on now or wait until you start on the apples. The oil should be at 375 degrees.
