Steps:
- In a large skillet, brown entire pound of bacon until crisp, placing cooked strips on paper towels to absorb grease.
- For best results, finely chop bacon in a food processor or with a hand blender, but finely chopping by hand will also work.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend bacon, tomato and jar of mayonnaise. Add half the container of sour cream, blend well. Add more sour cream by spoonfuls, until the mixture isn't overwhelmed by the taste of mayonnaise (you'll be left with about a cup or so of sour cream, typically). LIGHTLY coat the top of the mix with garlic powder, and blend. Add a dash of salt and pepper to taste. Toast the bread, then cut into fours.

DERBY BLT DIP
We were down in Kentucky to meet my niece's fiance and his friends and family and found this dip. Thought I'd pass it on. Can be served with veggies, but I liked it best with Triscuits®. I was surprised by this dip. I only tried it because of the crackers. For better flavor, make the day before so the flavors can meld. Can also be made by leaving out bacon and adding 1/2 cup slivered almonds or finely chopped pecans.

BLT II DIP
This yummy version of the original BLT dip uses canned tomatoes and paprika for a little more flavor! Also, the low-fat versions of mayo and sour cream could work, but don't try to use the low fat turkey bacon.

Tips:
- Choose ripe, flavorful tomatoes: The quality of your tomatoes will make a big difference in the overall flavor of the dip. Look for tomatoes that are deep red and juicy.
- Use high-quality bacon: Thick-cut bacon is best for this dip because it provides a nice smoky flavor. Look for bacon that is uncured and contains no added sugar.
- Don't overcook the bacon: You want the bacon to be crispy, but not overcooked. Cook it until it is just starting to brown.
- Use a good quality mayonnaise: The mayonnaise is the base of the dip, so it's important to use a good quality mayonnaise. Look for mayonnaise that is made with real eggs and oil.
- Season the dip to taste: The amount of salt and pepper you add to the dip will depend on your personal preferences. Taste the dip and adjust the seasonings as needed.
Conclusion:
BLT dip is a quick and easy appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with just a few simple ingredients and can be prepared in advance. The dip is creamy, flavorful, and sure to be a hit with your guests. Whether you are looking for a tasty appetizer for your next party or a quick and easy lunch, BLT dip is a great option.
