MUSTARD GLAZED CARROTS

A simple side dish.

Provided by Vicki Butts (lazyme)

Categories     Vegetables

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 Tbsp grey poupon honey mustard
1 Tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or parsley)
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1 9-oz pkg baby carrots, cooked and drained

Steps:

  • 1. Blend mustard, dill and margarine.
  • 2. Toss with hot carrots.
  • 3. Serve immediately.

Tips:

  • To enhance the flavor of the carrots, roast them first before glazing. This caramelizes the natural sugars in the carrots and brings out their sweetness.
  • Use good-quality mustard for the glaze. Dijon mustard is a classic choice, but you can also experiment with other types, such as whole-grain mustard or honey mustard.
  • If you want a thicker glaze, simmer it for a few minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Glaze the carrots while they are still hot so that the glaze can soak in better.
  • Garnish the carrots with fresh herbs, such as parsley or thyme, for an extra pop of flavor and color.
  • To make the carrots ahead of time, roast and glaze them as directed. Let them cool completely, then store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

Mustard-glazed carrots are a simple but delicious side dish that can be enjoyed with a variety of main courses. They are perfect for weeknight dinners, holiday gatherings, or any other occasion. With their sweet and tangy flavor, these carrots are sure to be a hit with everyone at the table, and they are an excellent way to add a colorful and flavorful side dish to your next meal.
