Time 9h

Yield 6-12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 lbs chicken wings
3/4 cup soy sauce
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients.
  • Add wings and marinate overnight.
  • (I have often marinated in fridge for 1 to 2 days) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Tips:

  • To achieve the perfect crispy texture, it is important to marinate the chicken wings for at least 30 minutes, but longer is better.
  • Use a combination of soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice wine, and sesame oil to create a flavorful marinade.
  • Make sure to coat the chicken wings evenly with the marinade, ensuring that all sides are covered.
  • For added flavor, you can add a teaspoon of grated ginger and a clove of minced garlic to the marinade.
  • If you don't have time to marinate the chicken wings, you can still achieve crispy skin by baking them uncovered at a high temperature.
  • To make sure the chicken wings are cooked through, insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the wing; it should read 165°F (74°C).
  • Serve the chicken wings immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce, honey garlic sauce, or ranch dressing.

Conclusion:

Nam Yee chicken wings are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course that is perfect for any occasion.
