WINE SPRITZER

Alot of times, if a bottle of red wine sits open for a couple of days, I find the flavor has changed and I don't enjoy it as much. Instead of throwing it out, I like to make wine spritzers instead. Instead of using ginger ale or seltzer, I really like them made with Fresca. Freshens up the wine and is really tasty! Add more or less Fresca for your tastes. Great for summer evenings on the deck.

Categories     Cocktails

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cup(s) dry white wine, chilled
1 cup(s) cranberry-apple juice, chilled
1 cup(s) sparkling water, chilled
1 small apple, sliced
- fresh mint

Steps:

  • In a large bowl mix everything well. Then serve in a glass over ice. Then garnish with apple slices & mint.
  • Special Tip: This can be made with nonalcoholic wine or apple juice.

Tips:

  • Choose the right wine. A dry white wine or rosé works best for a spritzer. Avoid wines that are too sweet or heavy. For non-alcoholic spritzers, use sparkling grape juice or flavored seltzer.
  • Add fresh fruit or herbs for flavor. Sliced strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or citrus fruits are all great additions to a wine spritzer. You can also add fresh mint, basil, or rosemary for a refreshing twist.
  • Make it fizzy. The best way to make a wine spritzer fizzy is to use sparkling water or club soda. You can also add a splash of lemon-lime soda or ginger ale for a sweeter, more flavorful spritzer.
  • Serve it chilled. Wine spritzers are best served chilled. You can chill the wine and sparkling water separately, or you can mix them together and then chill the spritzer. Serve over ice for an extra refreshing treat.
  • Garnish with a twist of citrus. A twist of lemon, lime, or orange is the perfect finishing touch for a wine spritzer. It adds a pop of color and flavor, and it also helps to keep the spritzer from going flat.

Conclusion:

Wine spritzers are a delicious and refreshing way to enjoy wine. They are perfect for sipping on a hot summer day or for serving at a party. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a wine spritzer that is customized to your own taste. So next time you are looking for a light and refreshing drink, give a wine spritzer a try.
