Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
  • Use Fresh Orange Zest: Fresh orange zest adds a bright, citrusy flavor to these spritz strips. Be sure to use a microplane or zester to get the finest zest possible.
  • Don't Overmix the Dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking will help the cookies hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the Cookies Until Golden Brown: The cookies are done baking when they are golden brown around the edges. Be careful not to overbake them, or they will become dry and crumbly.
