This is out of my Quaker Oats Bran Cookbook.

Provided by Laura Daszynicz

Categories     Pancakes

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 c oat bran, (cream of wheat or malto)
1/2 c all purpose flour
1-2 tsp sugar
2 tsp baking soda
1 c milk or (skim milk)
1 Tbsp vegtable oil
1 egg white slightly beaten

Steps:

  • 1. Heat griddle: slightly oil it. Combine bran, flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add combined milk, oil, and egg white; mix well. Pour scant 1/4 cup batter onto griddle. Turn pancakes when tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked.

Tips:

  • Use ripe bananas: The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your pancakes will be.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your pancakes tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Cook the pancakes over medium heat: Cooking the pancakes over medium heat will help them cook evenly and prevent them from burning.
  • Flip the pancakes only once: Flipping the pancakes too often will make them tough. Flip them only once, when the edges are slightly golden brown and bubbles start to form on the surface.
  • Serve the pancakes immediately: Pancakes are best served immediately after they are cooked. If you need to keep them warm, place them in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Conclusion:

Oat bran pancakes are a delicious and healthy breakfast option that is perfect for busy mornings. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect oat bran pancakes every time.
