3 tablespoon(s) sweet mustard
1 teaspoon(s) paprika

Top sauerkraut with bratwurst slices; roll jellyroll-style folding in the short edges. Place seam-side down on pan; brush top with butter and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Meanwhile prepare mustard sauce. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat, stir in flour to form a smooth past. Slowly stir in cream and continue stirring to keep lumps from forming. Whisk in mustard and heat through. Slice warm strudel and serve in a pool of mustard sauce. Sprinkle mustard sauce with paprika.

Tips:

  • Ensure your phyllo dough is thawed and pliable: If your phyllo dough is frozen, thaw it in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for a few hours before using. If it's too cold, it will be brittle and difficult to work with.
  • Work quickly with the phyllo dough: Phyllo dough dries out quickly, so it's important to work quickly when assembling the strudel. If you need to take a break, cover the dough with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out.
  • Don't overfill the strudel: If you overfill the strudel, it will be difficult to roll and seal. Aim to fill the strudel so that it is about 1-inch thick.
  • Bake the strudel until golden brown: The strudel should be baked until it is golden brown and crispy. This will take about 30-35 minutes.
  • Let the strudel cool before slicing: Let the strudel cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing. This will help the filling to set and prevent the strudel from falling apart.

Conclusion:

This Oktoberfest spinach strudel is a delicious and festive dish that is perfect for any fall gathering. The combination of spinach, cheese, and spices is perfectly balanced and the strudel is flaky and golden brown. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that will impress your friends and family.
