2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon salt
1 (9 inch) unbaked deep dish pie crust

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix the sweet potatoes, eggs, evaporated milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Pour into the pie crust.

2 cups peeled cooked sweet potatoes
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1 -2 tablespoon Bourbon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup milk
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shells
3 egg whites

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • For the filling, using an electric hand mixer, combine the potatoes, 1 cup of the sugar, the butter, eggs, vanilla, salt, and spices. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add the milk and continue to mix.
  • Pour the filling into the pie crust and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Place the pie on a rack and cool to room temperature before covering with meringue.

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (Borden)
2 eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (or 1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ginger, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/4 teaspoon cloves)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
Cool Whip
ground cinnamon, sprinkled

As most know I love Sweet Potatoes and can't remember not having them around. Sweet Potato Pies are cooked several different ways with several different ingredients. However, I am posting a favorite. This makes 2 pies...ENJOY

2 1/2 c mashed sweet potatoes. bake and cool before mashing.
1/2 c butter
1 1/4 c sugar
1 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cloves
2 large eggs
2 can(s) evaporated milk (12 oz)
2/3 c whole milk
2 9 " pie crust

Steps:

  • 1. Combine sweet potatoes and butter, mix well. Add sugar, flour and spices, mix well again. Blend in eggs and milks, mix well again. Pour evenly into two 9" pie shells. Bake at 425 degrees F. Oven for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and cook for 1 hour.
  • 2. NOTE: I FIND IT HELPS TO FILL THE PIE SHELLS AFTER THEY ARE ON OVEN RACK WITH A LADLE, DIPPER ETC. IT HELPS PREVENT SPILLING.
