Tips:

  • When choosing oranges for your recipe, look for those that are heavy and have a deep orange color. Avoid oranges that are bruised or have soft spots.
  • To zest an orange, use a microplane or fine grater to remove the outermost layer of the peel. Be careful not to grate too deeply, as you don't want to include the white pith.
  • Orange juice can be used in a variety of recipes, from cakes and cookies to cocktails and savory dishes. Freshly squeezed orange juice is always best, but you can also use store-bought orange juice if necessary.
  • Orange zest is a versatile ingredient that can be used to add a citrusy flavor to both sweet and savory dishes. It's a great addition to cakes, cookies, pies, and tarts. You can also use orange zest in savory dishes, such as chicken, fish, and pork.
  • Candied orange peel is a delicious and easy-to-make treat. It can be used as a snack, added to desserts, or used as a garnish.
