Time 25m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon dry white wine
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 tablespoon garlic, minced
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skinless

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Position a rack in the upper third of the oven. In a small bowl, combine the hoisin, soy sauce, wine, honey and garlic.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and spray it lightly with cooking spray; set aside.
  • Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet, and spoon the sauce over the fillets, trying to keep as much on each fillet as possible.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until just cooked through.
  • *Note: If you want extra sauce for after the fish is done baking (because the sauce in the oven sort of caramelizes), then I recommend doubling the sauce and reserving half of it for pouring over the fish after it is done baking. Just be sure NOT to touch any utensils that touched the raw fish into the reserved sauce.

Time 40m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 tablespoon olive oil, divided, or to taste
5 cloves garlic, diced
1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger, or to taste, peeled and diced
1 (1 pound) filleted side of salmon, skin removed
salt to taste
freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, or more to taste
1 tablespoon rice vinegar, or to taste
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon Chinese chile paste
½ cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons plum sauce
2 tablespoons chicken broth, or more as needed
1 teaspoon soy sauce
3 scallions, chopped, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Tips:

  • Choose the right salmon fillet: Look for a fillet that is thick and firm, with no signs of bruising or discoloration.
  • Prepare the salmon properly: Rinse the fillet under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Remove any bones or skin.
  • Make sure the oven is hot enough: Preheat the oven to the temperature specified in the recipe before baking the salmon. This will help to ensure that the salmon cooks evenly.
  • Don't overcook the salmon: Salmon is a delicate fish, so it's important not to overcook it. Cook the salmon for the amount of time specified in the recipe, or until it is cooked through but still flaky.
  • Let the salmon rest before serving: Once the salmon is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices to redistribute throughout the fish, making it more flavorful.

Conclusion:

Oven-baked salmon with hoisin and plum sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The salmon is cooked to perfection and the sauce is flavorful and tangy. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
