Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 bag(s) red potatoes, small
garlic powder
onion powder
oregano, dried
thyme, dried
basil, dried
1 c butter, melted
1 c olive oil

Steps:

  • 1. cut up red potatoes in to small chunks then put them on a cookie sheet
  • 2. then sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme and basil on to potatoes
  • 3. then melt butter then when melted them pour over potatoes and make sure all potatoes get covered then do the same with with the olive oil
  • 4. Then put in the oven at 350 degrees and bake them till they are golden brown i would say between 30-45 min depending on how much potatoes you use and if you make a large amount you may need more butter and olive oil to be able to coat them all the way

Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Russet potatoes are the best choice for oven brown potatoes because they have a high starch content, which helps them to brown and crisp up nicely. You can also use Yukon Gold potatoes, but they will not be as crispy.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will help them to cook evenly. If the potatoes are cut too thick, they will not cook through in the center. If they are cut too thin, they will overcook and become mushy.
  • Toss the potatoes in oil and seasonings: This will help them to brown and crisp up. You can use any type of oil you like, but olive oil or melted butter are good choices. Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. You can also add other seasonings, such as paprika, chili powder, or cumin.
  • Spread the potatoes in a single layer: This will help them to cook evenly. If the potatoes are crowded in the pan, they will not brown and crisp up properly.
  • Bake the potatoes at a high temperature: This will help them to brown and crisp up. The ideal temperature for oven brown potatoes is 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Flip the potatoes halfway through cooking: This will help them to brown evenly on all sides.
  • Cook the potatoes until they are tender and browned: The cooking time will vary depending on the size of the potatoes and how thick they are cut. Insert a fork into the potatoes to test them for doneness. They should be tender on the inside and browned on the outside.

Conclusion:

Oven brown potatoes are a delicious and easy side dish that can be served with a variety of meals. They are perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect oven brown potatoes every time.
