2 tablespoons cooking wine
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 garlic clove chopped
2 teaspoons fresh ginger minced
2 tablespoons green onions minced
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
14 ounces lo mein noodles (or 2 packages of Yakisoba noodles (dry) prepared without seasoning packages)
2 tablespoons cooking oil ( (use vegetable, olive oil, or oil of your choice))
2 cups napa cabbage (sliced)
1 large sliced white onion
3 celery stalks ( cut diagonally into 1/4 inch slices )

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sugar, cooking wine, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, green onions, and sesame oil; set aside.

CHOW MEIN COPYCAT PANDA EXPRESS RECIPE - (4.4/5)

Chow Mein Copycat Panda Express Recipe - (4.4/5) image

Provided by á-10966

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1-2 cloves garlic, grated
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
Ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
15 ounces Yakisoba noodles (found in the refrigerated part of the produce section of the grocery store)
2/3 cup celery, chopped diagonally
1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cup (heaping) cabbage, chopped

Steps:

  • In a small bowl combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and black pepper; set aside. Remove noodles from packages and discard the included flavoring packets. Rinse noodles well, drain, and set aside. Heat oil in a large wok or skillet. Add celery and onion and saute for several minutes until onions become soft and transparent. Add cabbage and saute another few minutes until soft. Add noodles and soy sauce mixture and heat for an additional 2-3 minutes or until noodles are heated through. Note: It might seem like a lot of cabbage when you add it to the pan, but it cooks down a ton and ends up being perfect. I used Lite Soy Sauce, which has 50% less sodium than regular. Easy and delicious.

Tips:

  • For a quick and easy meal, use pre-cooked chicken or shrimp.
  • To make the chow mein vegetarian, omit the chicken or shrimp and add extra vegetables, such as broccoli, carrots, or bell peppers.
  • If you don't have oyster sauce, you can substitute soy sauce or teriyaki sauce.
  • For a spicier chow mein, add a teaspoon or two of chili sauce.
  • Serve the chow mein over rice or noodles.

Conclusion:

Panda Express Chow Mein is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious meal that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, be sure to give Panda Express Chow Mein a try!
