Tips:

  • Use fresh corn: Fresh corn on the cob is the best choice for this recipe, but frozen corn can also be used. If using frozen corn, thaw it completely before using.
  • Don't overcook the corn: The corn should be cooked until it is tender, but not mushy. Overcooked corn will make the casserole too soft.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The cheese is one of the main ingredients in this casserole, so it's important to use a good quality cheese that melts well. Cheddar cheese is a classic choice, but you can also use Monterey Jack, Swiss, or Gruyère cheese.
  • Add some spice: If you like a little spice, you can add some diced jalapeños or chili peppers to the casserole. You can also add some cayenne pepper or paprika for a smoky flavor.
  • Make it a main dish: This casserole can be served as a main dish or a side dish. If you're serving it as a main dish, you can add some cooked chicken, beef, or pork to the casserole.

Conclusion:

Paula Deen's corn casserole is a classic Southern dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its creamy, cheesy texture and sweet corn flavor, this casserole is sure to be a hit with everyone at your table.
