  • Sprinkle each biscuit with 1 pinch cinnamon, 1 pinch white sugar, and 1 pinch nutmeg. Flatten biscuits on a lightly floured surface using a rolling pin. Cut each flattened biscuit into 12 to 15 small squares; stir into peach mixture. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • Pour peach-biscuit mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and allow to thicken for 2 to 3 minutes; cover or decorate with pie crust. Cover dish with a sheet of aluminum foil and place dish on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until crust is golden brown, 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cool before serving.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, juicy peaches: The quality of your peaches will greatly impact the flavor of your cobbler. Look for peaches that are fragrant, have a deep orange color, and give slightly when you press them.
  • If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them: If you're using fresh peaches, you'll need to peel and slice them before adding them to the cobbler. To peel a peach, simply use a sharp knife to make a shallow cut around the peach's equator. Then, twist the two halves of the peach in opposite directions to separate them. Once the peach is peeled, slice it into thin wedges.
  • Use a variety of spices: Don't be afraid to experiment with different spices in your cobbler. Common spices that pair well with peaches include cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cardamom.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your cobbler tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the cobbler until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling: The baking time will vary depending on the recipe you're using, but in general, you can expect the cobbler to take about 45 minutes to bake.
