FROZEN PEACH YOGURT

FROZEN PEACH YOGURT image

Categories     Dairy     Fruit     Dessert     Freeze/Chill

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 large peaches chopped (2 c.)
1 egg white
½ c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 c plain yogurt

Steps:

  • Combine peaches, egg white, sugar and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Beat at high speed until light and almost doubled in volume (about 5 minutes). Fold in yogurt. Turn into a container, cover and freeze. Let soften ½ hour at room temperature before serving. Makes 4 servings.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe peaches: The riper the peaches, the sweeter and more flavorful your frozen yogurt will be. Look for peaches that are slightly soft to the touch and have a deep orange color.
  • Freeze the peaches before using: This will help them blend more easily and create a smoother frozen yogurt. Cut the peaches into small pieces before freezing so they freeze evenly.
  • Use plain yogurt: Plain yogurt is the best base for frozen yogurt because it is unsweetened and has a neutral flavor. You can use Greek yogurt for a thicker, creamier frozen yogurt, or regular yogurt for a lighter, more refreshing frozen yogurt.
  • Add honey or maple syrup to taste: If you like your frozen yogurt sweeter, add honey or maple syrup to taste. You can also add other sweeteners, such as sugar or stevia, but honey and maple syrup are healthier options.
  • Add flavorings: You can add a variety of flavorings to your frozen yogurt, such as vanilla extract, almond extract, or cinnamon. You can also add fresh fruit, such as berries or bananas, or nuts, such as chopped almonds or walnuts.
  • Freeze the frozen yogurt in a covered container: This will help it to maintain its texture and flavor. You can store the frozen yogurt in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

Peach frozen yogurt is a delicious and refreshing treat that is perfect for a summer snack or dessert. It is also a healthy alternative to ice cream, as it is made with yogurt and fruit. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can easily make your own peach frozen yogurt at home. So next time you are craving something sweet and cold, give this recipe a try!
