Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 c packed light brown sugar
1/2 c butter, softened
1/2 c peanut butter
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
10 slice bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled, divided
1/2 c chopped peanuts, divided
1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. preheat oven to 350. coat an 8x8 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 2. in a large bowl, beat sugar and butter until creamy. beat in peanut butter, egg and vanilla. add flour, baking soda and salt, mix well. stir in 1/2 cup bacon and 1/3 cup peanuts.
  • 3. bake 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. return to oven and bake 1 additional minute.
  • 4. immediately spread melted chocolate over tops. sprinkle with reserved bacon and peanuts. let cool completely, then cut into squares.

Tips:

  • Use a good quality bacon. The better the bacon, the better the bars will taste. Look for bacon that is thick-cut and has a good amount of fat.
  • Cook the bacon until it is crispy. This will help to give the bars a nice texture. You can cook the bacon in the oven, on the stovetop, or in an air fryer.
  • Use creamy peanut butter. This will help to make the bars smooth and creamy. You can use chunky peanut butter if you prefer, but the bars will not be as smooth.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the bars tough. Mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the bars before cutting them. This will help to make them easier to cut and will also help to prevent them from crumbling.

Conclusion:

Peanut butter bacon bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are a great way to use up leftover bacon, and they are also a fun and festive snack for parties and potlucks. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make these delicious bars that are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them.
