Time 40m

Yield 36 squares

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 lb Velveeta cheese, sliced
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts
2 (16 ounce) boxes confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Lightly spray the bottom of a 9 by 2-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt cheese and butter together, then add peanut butter and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts.
  • Empty confectioners' sugar into a large bowl and pour cheese mixture over sugar. Stir until completely mixed. Candy will be very stiff.
  • Using your hands, remove candy from the bowl and press evenly and firmly into the pan. Because of the amount of butter in this recipe, pat top of candy with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Place the pan in refrigerator until candy is firm.
  • To serve, cut into squares.

PEANUT BUTTER CHEESE FUDGE

Recipe from Food Network and Paula Dean and Sons. Very rich and creamy. No one will suspect that you made this with cheese- but only use Velveeta cheese she says! And Paula knows cheese!

Provided by Pat Duran

Categories     Candies

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 lb sliced easy-melt velveeta cheese, only
1 c butter-like she would use anything else!
1 c peanut butter, creamy
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c chopped walnuts
2 lb powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Lightly spray the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with non stick cook spray- the butter kind. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt cheese and butter together, then add peanut butter and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts. Empty powdered sugar into a large bowl and pour cheese mixture over sugar. Stir until completely mixed. Candy will be very stiff. Using your hands, remove candy from the bowl and press evenly and firmly into the pan. Because of the amount of BUTTER in this recipe, pat top of candy with a paper towel to remove any excess oil. Place pan in refrigerator until candy is firm. Cut into squares to serve.

Tips:

  • Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan to prevent the fudge from burning.
  • Cook the fudge mixture to the correct temperature. If the mixture is not cooked to a high enough temperature, the fudge will be too soft. If the mixture is cooked to too high a temperature, the fudge will be too hard.
  • Stir the fudge mixture constantly to prevent it from scorching.
  • Use a candy thermometer to ensure that the fudge mixture reaches the correct temperature.
  • Let the fudge cool completely before cutting it into pieces.

Conclusion:

Peanut butter cheese fudge is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With its creamy texture and sweet and salty flavor, this fudge is sure to be a hit at any party or gathering. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, give peanut butter cheese fudge a try. You won't be disappointed!
