Tips:

  • To achieve the perfect texture for your pecan pie, use a combination of light and dark corn syrup. The light corn syrup will provide a smooth consistency, while the dark corn syrup will add a rich flavor and color.
  • Don't overmix the filling. Overmixing can result in a tough, rubbery pie crust. Mix the filling just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a deep-dish pie plate to ensure that the filling doesn't overflow. A 9-inch pie plate is the ideal size for this recipe.
  • To prevent the pie crust from becoming soggy, pre-bake it for 10-15 minutes before adding the filling. This will help to create a barrier between the crust and the filling.
  • Pecan pie is best when served warm. Let it cool for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
