PINEAPPLE CILANTRO LIME MARGARITA

Pineapple Cilantro Lime Margarita image

On a recent trip to New Orleans, I got a delicious margarita at El Gato Negro in the French Quarter, a Pineapple Cilantro Lime Margarita. I had to come home and try and recreate it since it's a bit of a hike to NOLA from Ohio! While it may not be exact, I find this to be very close and VERY good! Perfect for a hot summer day!

Time 5m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup pineapple chunk
1/8 cup cilantro leaf
1 cup ice, crushed
1/4 cup lime juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
1 cup tequila
1 cup triple sec
1/4 cup superfine sugar

Steps:

  • Soak pineapple in tequila, if desired.
  • Add pineapple chunks, cilantro leaves and ice to pitcher.
  • Add lemon, lime and pineapple juices and stir.
  • Add tequila and triple sec.
  • Stir or shake for 60 seconds.
  • Sugar rims of glass if desired, use lime juice or pineapple juice to wet the rim for extra flavor.
  • Serve into glasses, over ice if desired.
  • Drink immediately and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Use fresh pineapple: Fresh pineapple adds a vibrant, tropical flavor to your margarita. If you can't find fresh pineapple, you can use frozen pineapple that has been thawed and drained.
  • Choose a good quality tequila: The tequila is the base of your margarita, so it's important to choose a good one. Look for a tequila that is 100% agave and has a smooth, clean flavor.
  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice: Fresh lime juice adds a bright, citrusy flavor to your margarita. Avoid using bottled lime juice, as it can be bitter and artificial-tasting.
  • Don't over-mix your margarita: Over-mixing your margarita will make it watery and dilute the flavors. Shake your margarita just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Serve your margarita with a garnish: A garnish adds a pop of color and flavor to your margarita. Some popular garnishes include pineapple wedges, lime wedges, and salt.

Conclusion:

The pineapple margarita is a refreshing, tropical cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With its sweet and tangy flavor, the pineapple margarita is sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy-to-make cocktail, give the pineapple margarita a try.
