Tips:

  • Select Ripe Pineapple: Choose a pineapple that is heavy for its size and has a golden yellow color. Avoid pineapples with green or brown spots.
  • Zest and Juice Oranges: Use a microplane grater to zest the oranges, then squeeze their juice. This will add bright citrus flavor and aroma to the sauce.
  • Chop Cranberries Fresh: For the best texture and flavor, chop fresh cranberries rather than using frozen or dried ones.
  • Use Pure Maple Syrup: Pure maple syrup adds a rich, natural sweetness to the sauce. Avoid using corn syrup or other artificial sweeteners.
  • Simmer for Flavor: Simmer the sauce over low heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld and develop, resulting in a more complex and delicious sauce.
