EASY PITCHER OF MARGARITAS

Easy Pitcher of Margaritas image

This recipe is great because it uses frozen concentrate limeade instead of sour mix, which I think makes them better! Sometimes sour mixes can be hit or miss, but the frozen limeade makes them consistent. Once you dump the limeade in your pitcher, just reuse the can to measure the water and the tequila. We like them much better than some restaurants here in Texas, plus the pitcher is great for entertaining instead of making individual glasses. The secret ingredient is the almond syrup. You can find the almond syrup in the coffee aisle as a flavoring in the big bottle. You can use this as a basic margarita, and add flavors to change it up: mango, strawberry, peach, etc....

Time 10m

Yield 1 pitcher, 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (12 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
30 ounces water
12 ounces tequila, gold or silver
3 ounces triple sec or 3 ounces Cointreau liqueur
2 ounces almond syrup
3/4 cup fresh lime juice

Steps:

  • Put all of the ingredients in a pitcher. Use the empty limeade can to measure the water (2 1/2 cans) and tequila (1 can).
  • Stir to mix. I don't put ice in the pitcher since they will water down.
  • Serve with or without a salted rim over ice or frozen.
  • Any leftovers can be kept in the fridge.

Tips:

  • Choose the right tequila. A good quality tequila is essential for a great margarita. Look for a 100% agave tequila that is at least 80 proof.
  • Use fresh lime juice. Fresh lime juice is always best in margaritas. If you don't have fresh limes, you can use bottled lime juice, but be sure to get a good quality brand.
  • Don't skimp on the Cointreau. Cointreau is a key ingredient in margaritas, and it adds a delicious orange flavor. Be sure to use a good quality Cointreau, and don't be afraid to add a little extra if you like.
  • Use a blender. A blender is the best way to make margaritas. It will help you get a smooth, consistent consistency.
  • Chill your ingredients. Chilling your ingredients before you make your margaritas will help them stay cold and refreshing.
  • Serve your margaritas with a lime wedge and a salted rim. This is the classic way to serve margaritas, and it's always a crowd-pleaser.
