Time 40m

Yield 1 "15 inch crust"

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 package yeast
3/4 cup water
2 1/2 cups biscuit mix (Bisquick)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water.
  • Add the biscuit mix and mix well.
  • Knead the dough until smooth.
  • Roll it out to desired thickness and press into a greased pizza or baking pan.
  • Let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  • Top with your favorite toppings and bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes, or until crust is crispy.

Tips:

  • Proof the yeast correctly: Make sure the water is lukewarm (around 110°F) and that the yeast is fresh. Proof the yeast for the amount of time specified in the recipe, usually 5-10 minutes. This will ensure that the yeast is active and will help the dough rise properly.
  • Use the right flour: Bread flour or all-purpose flour can be used for pizza dough, but bread flour will result in a chewier crust. If you are using all-purpose flour, add an extra ½ cup of flour to the dough.
  • Knead the dough properly: Knead the dough for at least 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic. This will help develop the gluten in the flour, which will make the dough strong and chewy.
  • Let the dough rise: After kneading, let the dough rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size. This will allow the yeast to produce gases, which will make the dough light and airy.
  • Shape the dough correctly: When shaping the dough, be careful not to overwork it. This will make the dough tough. Gently stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle. You can also use a rolling pin to roll out the dough.
  • Bake the pizza at a high temperature: Pizza should be baked at a high temperature, around 450°F. This will help to create a crispy crust and prevent the pizza from becoming soggy.

Conclusion:

With a little practice, you can make delicious homemade pizza that rivals your favorite pizzeria. By following these tips, you can create a perfect pizza dough that is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. So next time you're craving pizza, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
