Categories     Steaks and Chops

Time 50m

Number Of Ingredients 12

4 boneless pork chops, 3/4-inch thick (about 1 pound)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) campbell's® condensed golden mushroom soup
1/4 cup water
1 can (about 8 ounces) pineapple tidbits, undrained
3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup regular long-grain white rice, prepared according to package directions (about 3 cups)
sliced green onion

Steps:

  • 1. Season the pork with the garlic and onion powder.
  • 2. Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork and cook until well browned on both sides.
  • 3. Stir the onion, soup, water, pineapple with juice, soy sauce and honey in the skillet and heat to a boil. Reduce the heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes or until the pork is cooked through. Serve the pork and sauce with the rice and sprinkle with the green onion.

Tips:

  • To achieve a tender and juicy pork chop, marinate it for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Acidic ingredients like pineapple juice or vinegar help tenderize the meat, while flavorful herbs and spices add depth of flavor.
  • Sear the pork chops over high heat to create a flavorful crust and lock in the juices. Then, reduce the heat and cook the pork chops until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare or 160°F (71°C) for medium.
  • Serve the pork chops immediately with your favorite sides. Some popular options include rice, potatoes, or vegetables.
  • To add a tropical twist to your pork chops, use pineapple chunks, mango slices, or papaya cubes in the marinade or sauce.
  • Experiment with different herbs and spices to create your own unique flavor combinations. Some popular options include garlic, ginger, cumin, chili powder, and paprika.

Conclusion:

Polynesian pork chops are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. With their sweet and savory flavors, these pork chops are sure to be a hit with your family and friends. So next time you're looking for a new and exciting way to cook pork, give Polynesian pork chops a try.
