UPSIDE-DOWN POPOVER PIZZA

Upside-Down Popover Pizza image

This is a great brunch alternative. The popover batter replaces the pizza crust. If you're craving pizza this is a simpler alternative and the upside-down puffy crust is a nice change of pace. Recipe from My Great Recipes (1988 or 1989). Feel free to substitute ground beef or turkey for sausage and add salt, pepper, or any other seasonings you prefer.

Family friendly recipe! If making it only for adults, I'd spice it up a bit.....but for families, this is excellent. Throw it together, put it in the oven, relax a bit and dinner is ready! Serve with a salad to get some green veggies in!

Tips:

  • For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone or baking sheet. Preheat it in the oven before adding the dough.
  • If you don't have a pizza stone or baking sheet, you can use a greased baking pan.
  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the taste of your pizza.
  • Don't overload the pizza with toppings. This will make it soggy.
  • Bake the pizza until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
