I came up with this recipe when I had leftover cooked pork that I wanted to use up. The whole family enjoys this entree. It's easy even if you don't have leftover meat, because the pork cooks so quickly. Or you can use chicken instead.-Denise Loewenthal, Hinckley, Ohio

Tips:

  • To make the most of the teriyaki sauce, marinate the pork for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This will allow the flavors to penetrate the meat and make it extra tender.
  • If you don't have time to marinate the pork, you can still make a delicious teriyaki dish by simply brushing the sauce on the meat while it cooks.
  • To get the best flavor from the brown rice, rinse it well before cooking. This will remove the starch and help the rice cook evenly.
  • If you don't have brown rice, you can use white rice instead. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • To make the dish more colorful, add some steamed vegetables, such as broccoli, carrots, or snow peas.
  • For a healthier option, use a low-sodium teriyaki sauce or make your own sauce using fresh ingredients.

Conclusion:

Pork teriyaki over brown rice is a flavorful and healthy meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. The pork is tender and juicy, the sauce is sweet and savory, and the rice is fluffy and filling.
