Steps:
- Soften the cream cheese and thaw cool whip.
- With a mixer on medium speed, blend the cool whip, cream cheese, and gradually blend in the pudding mix and eggnog.
- If it seems a little thick use a few more tablespoons of eggnog, milk, or half-n-half to thin it down to a good dipping consistency.
- Can be served within minutes!
- Serve with crisp pear and apple slices, ginger snaps, vanilla wafers, etc.
- Other variations: Try the recipe with vanilla pudding and pie filling, milk instead of eggnog, and two tablespoons of peanut butter--serve with apple slices and celery sticks.
- Or use butterscotch pudding and pie filling,, or pistachio pudding and pie filling,, nix the eggnog and use milk to thin the dip.
- You could even double the recipe and fold this into a cooked pie crust, chill 1/2 hour, and serve.

PUMPKIN PIE DIP
I came up with this rich, creamy pumpkin dip when I had a small amount of canned pumpkin left in the fridge after my holiday baking. It's also great served with sliced pears and apples, or as a spread on zucchini bread. -Laurie LaClair, North Richland Hills, Texas

PUMPKIN SPICE FRUIT DIP
Steps:
- Beat the cream cheese, marshmallow creme and pumpkin puree in a large bowl with an electric mixer on high speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the pumpkin pie spice and beat again until well incorporated. Transfer to a serving bowl and chill until ready to serve. Serve with gingersnaps and seasonal fruit such as apple and pear slices.
Tips:
- To make the dip ahead of time, prepare it up to 2 days in advance and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving.
- If you don't have any pumpkin pie spice, you can make your own by combining 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves.
- For a creamier dip, use full-fat cream cheese and sour cream. If you're looking for a lighter option, you can use low-fat or non-fat dairy products.
- If you don't have any applesauce, you can make your own by peeling and coring 2 apples, then cooking them in a saucepan with 1/4 cup of water until they're soft. Mash the apples with a fork or potato masher until they're smooth.
- To make the dip even more festive, garnish it with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or a cinnamon stick.
Conclusion:
This Pumpkin Spice Apple Dip is the perfect fall appetizer or snack. It's easy to make, and it's always a hit with guests. The pumpkin pie spice gives it a warm and cozy flavor, and the applesauce adds a touch of sweetness. Serve it with graham crackers, cookies, or fruit slices, and enjoy!
