1 c semi sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cover a large cookie sheet with aluminum foil, shiny side up. Spray with cooking spray to cover.

1 bag snyder's of hanover square shaped butter pretzels
1 bag rolo ( chocolate covered caramel candies)
1 bag pecan halves

Steps:

  • 1. Unwrap Rolo candies and place in bowl for later.
  • 2. Arrange the pretzels in a single layer on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Place one chocolate covered caramel candy on each pretzel.

  • 4. Take out of oven.
  • 5. Push a pecan half on top of each rolo
  • 6. Set in a cool area or fridge to harden.
  • 7. Remove from fridge and store in bag or container.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate. The type of chocolate you use will greatly affect the taste of your turtles. Look for a chocolate that is at least 60% cocoa solids.
  • Temper the chocolate. Tempering chocolate is a process of heating and cooling the chocolate in a specific way to stabilize it. This will help the chocolate set properly and give it a smooth, glossy finish.
  • Be patient. Making turtles takes time. Don't rush the process or you will end up with messy, broken turtles.
  • Get creative with your toppings. You can use a variety of different toppings to decorate your turtles, such as nuts, sprinkles, or chopped candy.
