~ AWESOME SPICE RAISIN BARS ~
I've always loved these delicious, moist bars...this recipe comes from my great grandmother, as far as gram could remember. They are great with just a sprinkling of confectioners' sugar, but can ice if you prefer. I like to be able to taste the flavors, so I don't usually add a glaze. Enjoy!

Steps:
- 1. In a medium saucepan, bring raisins and water to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in oil. Cool just to lukewarm. Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish or pan. Stir in sugar and egg.
- 2. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, spices, soda and salt. Beat the raisin mixture into the flour mixture and stir in nuts.
- 3. Pour and spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes.
- 4. When cool you can glaze or sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.
Tips:
- To ensure moist and flavorful raisin spice bars, use a combination of brown sugar and granulated sugar. Brown sugar adds moisture and a caramel-like flavor, while granulated sugar provides sweetness and structure.
- For a浓郁的香料风味, use a combination of ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. These spices complement each other well and create a warm, inviting aroma.
- To achieve a tender and crumbly texture, use a combination of butter and vegetable oil. Butter adds richness and flavor, while vegetable oil helps to keep the bars moist and prevents them from becoming dry.
- Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in tough, dense bars. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- For even baking, spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan. Tap the pan on the counter to remove any air bubbles.
- To prevent the bars from sticking to the pan, line the pan with parchment paper before pouring in the batter.
- Bake the bars until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Overbaking can result in dry, crumbly bars.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting them into squares. This will help to prevent them from falling apart.
Conclusion:
Raisin spice bars are a delightful treat that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. They are easy to make and can be customized with different spices and dried fruits. With their moist and flavorful texture and warm, inviting aroma, raisin spice bars are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a delicious and satisfying baked good, give raisin spice bars a try!
