Tips:

  • Use high-quality ground beef and pork for the meatballs. A combination of 80% beef and 20% pork is ideal.
  • Grate the onion finely for the meatballs. This will help to bind the mixture together and prevent the meatballs from becoming dry.
  • Add a little breadcrumb to the meatball mixture. This will help to absorb excess moisture and make the meatballs light and fluffy.
  • Season the meatballs generously with salt and pepper. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika, to taste.
  • Brown the meatballs in a hot skillet before simmering them in the gravy. This will help to develop flavor and prevent the meatballs from falling apart.
  • Use a good quality beef broth for the gravy. You can also use chicken broth or vegetable broth, but beef broth will give the gravy a richer flavor.
  • Add a little cream to the gravy for a richer and creamier texture.
  • Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice. You can also serve them with a side of lingonberry jam.

Conclusion:

Royal Swedish Meatballs are a classic dish that is enjoyed by people all over the world. They are easy to make and can be served with a variety of side dishes. These meatballs are made with a combination of ground beef and pork, and they are then simmered in a rich and flavorful gravy.
