HONEY SOY GLAZED SALMON RECIPE BY TASTY

Honey Soy Glazed Salmon Recipe by Tasty image

Two words: honey salmon! Sure, it takes a tiny bit of prep work, but once you marinate your salmon, you won't be able to go back. A simple mix of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger coats and flavors your fish for 30 minutes before you throw it on the pan until the outside is perfectly crispy. Once that's done, you heat up and reduce some extra marinade to make a thick, to-die-for glaze to pour over your filet. Serve with your favorite veggies or rice and enjoy!

HONEY GINGER SALMON

Honey Ginger Salmon image

My friends say this is the best fish they've ever had! Serve with quinoa tossed with some ginger and garlic. I created this recipe as an accompinent to various Asian dishes I was preparing. Can be eaten along side a noodle salad with chopsticks as well.

Time 30m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 salmon fillets
3 -4 tablespoons honey
4 garlic cloves, minced
4 tablespoons olive oil
3 -4 tablespoons fresh ginger, minced
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Place Fillets in a large sheet of tin foil.
  • Season fillets with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Drizzle with honey.
  • Sprinkle and/or press garlic and ginger on the fish.
  • Douse in olive oil.
  • Seal the edges of the tin foil around the fish, forming a "pocket" that does not allow for the escape of steam.
  • Cook at 180/375 for 10 minutes and then remove from oven and CAREFULLY open the pouches.
  • Return to the oven to cook as per your tastes for the remainder of the time.
  • I prefer this fish to be "over cooked" and for the honey to take on a carmelized consistancy and the fish to be slightly "tough" and chewy. Though this is also excellent with a soft buttery consistancy fish. You'll know it is done when the fish looses it's transparent color and flakes apart in the center/thickest part with a fork.
  • Batay Avon! Bon Appitete! Happy Eating!

SALMON IN A SOY & HONEY MARINADE

Salmon in a Soy & Honey marinade image

An Asian-inspired simple and satisfying recipe. Beautiful in the summer with a crisp white wine.

Provided by katodavo89

Time 35m

Yield Serves 2

Number Of Ingredients 0

Steps:

  • Mix together soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic spring onions and lime juice - taste to your liking and season with black pepper.
  • Rinse the fish with clean water and gently pat dry with kitchen paper.
  • Pour the sauce over the fish in a large bowl, making sure the fillets are covered. Seal the bowl with cling film and leave to marinade in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  • Once marinaded, loosely wrap the fish in individual foil parcels with a couple of spoonfuls of the marinade, leaving a 1 inch gap in the top of the foil.
  • Place on a tray in a pre-heated oven at around 160°C for 15-20 minutes. Pour the remaining marinade into the parcels half way through cooking. Meanwhile, cook your rice or noodles.
  • Serve with vegetables such as broccoli, green beans or red peppers. Unwrap the parcels and use a flat utensil to lift the fish out and place onto your plate.
  • Sprinkle the fish with sesame seeds and fresh chopped spring onion to garnish.

Tips:

  • Choose the right salmon fillets: Look for fillets that are about 1 inch thick and have a vibrant orange color. Avoid fillets that are thin or have a dull color, as these may be dry or less flavorful.
  • Marinate the salmon fillets: Marinating the salmon fillets in a mixture of soy sauce, ginger, honey, and olive oil helps to infuse them with flavor and moisture. Be sure to marinate the fillets for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours.
  • Cook the salmon fillets over medium heat: Cooking the salmon fillets over medium heat helps to prevent them from drying out. Be sure to cook the fillets until they are cooked through, but not overcooked. Overcooked salmon will be dry and tough.
  • Serve the salmon fillets immediately: Salmon fillets are best served immediately after they are cooked. This will ensure that they are hot and flaky.

Conclusion:

This recipe for salmon fillets with soy, ginger, and honey is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The salmon fillets are marinated in a flavorful mixture of soy sauce, ginger, honey, and olive oil, then cooked to perfection. The result is a flaky, moist, and flavorful salmon fillet that is sure to please everyone at the table.
