Tips:

  • Mise en Place: As with most baking recipes, it's essential to measure and prepare all your ingredients before you start baking. Doing this helps ensure that you don't miss any ingredients and that everything is at the correct temperature when needed.
  • Use Good Quality Ingredients: The quality of your ingredients greatly impacts the final product. Use the best quality butter, chocolate, and nuts you can find.
  • Don't Overmix the Dough: Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough before baking helps the cookies hold their shape and prevents them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the Cookies at the Right Temperature: The cookies should be baked at a high temperature initially to set the edges, then the temperature should be reduced to allow the centers to cook through without overcooking the edges.
  • Let the Cookies Cool Completely: Once the cookies are baked, let them cool completely on a wire rack before storing them. This will help them firm up and develop their full flavor.
