Tips:

  • Prep ahead: Wash, peel, and slice the apples the day before baking to save time.
  • Choose the right apples: Use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. These apples hold their shape when baked and provide a nice contrast to the sweet cake.
  • Mix the batter correctly: Don't overmix the batter, as this can result in a tough cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Swirl the batter: To create the beautiful apple swirl, spoon half of the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Top with the apple mixture, then spoon the remaining batter over the apples. Use a knife or skewer to swirl the batters together.
  • Bake at the right temperature: Bake the cake at 350°F (175°C) for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool before glazing: Allow the cake to cool for at least 10 minutes in the pan before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely. This will help prevent the glaze from running off the cake.
  • Make the glaze: While the cake is cooling, make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. The glaze should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Glaze the cake: Once the cake is completely cool, drizzle the glaze over the top. Let the glaze set for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Conclusion:

This Saucy Apple Swirl Bundt Cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The moist and fluffy cake is filled with a sweet and tangy apple filling and topped with a decadent glaze. Follow the tips above to ensure that your cake turns out perfectly every time.
