Tips:

  • To make the most flavorful stroganoff, use high-quality beef sausage. Look for sausage that is made with fresh, ground beef and has a good blend of spices.
  • If you don't have beef sausage, you can use another type of sausage, such as Italian sausage or kielbasa. Just be sure to adjust the seasonings to taste.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the sausage. If you do, the sausage will steam instead of brown.
  • Cook the sausage over medium heat until it is browned on all sides. This will help to develop the flavor of the sausage.
  • Once the sausage is browned, add the onions and mushrooms and cook until they are softened.
  • Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the flour is absorbed by the fat in the pan.
  • Gradually whisk in the beef broth and milk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  • Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve the stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice.

Sausage stroganoff is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It is made with simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand, and it can be tailored to your own taste preferences.
