SUPERB SAUTEED MUSHROOMS
These mushrooms are the quintessential topping for all types of steak. Also excellent over baked potatoes. I have people calling me and asking me for the recipe even years after I have made them for them. They are that good!!

My favorite way to prepare mushrooms. Even if you don't like mushrooms, you'll like these. Great served over steaks or mashed potatoes. Adjust seasonings to taste.

MUSHROOMS AND ONIONS FOR STEAK
This is how I sauté mushrooms and onions to serve with grilled steak. I've been doing it this way for years and never really thought of it as a recipe until today when my husband mentioned that it was the best he'd ever had. If you have leftovers, make an omelet with them with smoked swiss cheese and serve with hot, steaming bowls of tomato soup with basil. Just trust me on that.

Tips:
- Choose the right mushrooms: For this recipe, cremini or baby bella mushrooms are ideal. They have a mild flavor and tender texture.
- Slice the mushrooms evenly: This will help them cook evenly.
- Use a hot skillet: This will help to sear the mushrooms and prevent them from becoming soggy.
- Don't overcrowd the skillet: Cook the mushrooms in batches if necessary to prevent them from steaming.
- Season the mushrooms: Salt and pepper are all you need to bring out the flavor of the mushrooms.
- Cook the mushrooms until they are tender and browned: This will take about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the butter and garlic: This will add a rich flavor to the mushrooms.
