1 cup butter

3 cups white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 cups chopped walnuts
1 ¼ cups white sugar
1 cup heavy cream
5 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
½ cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan. Place 8 ounces of baking chocolate with 1 cup of butter in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave on High until the chocolate is soft and the butter has melted, about 2 minutes. Stir to mix.

  • Remove the cream mixture from the heat, and stir in 5 ounces of baking chocolate and 1/2 cup butter, stirring to melt and blend the chocolate. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; whisk until smooth. Place the frosting in the refrigerator and stir every few minutes until the frosting is chilled and thick, about 30 minutes. Frost the cooled brownies, and cut into squares.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients. This will make a big difference in the taste of your brownie cake. Use real butter, dark chocolate, and fresh eggs.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the brownies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs attached. Overbaking will make the brownies dry.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting to set properly.
  • If you don't have a springform pan, you can bake the brownies in a regular 9x13 inch pan. Just be sure to grease and flour the pan well before adding the batter.
  • You can also freeze the brownies for up to 2 months. Just wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe bag.
  • To make the brownies even more decadent, you can add chocolate chips, nuts, or sprinkles to the batter before baking.

Conclusion:

This self-frosted brownie cake is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is rich, chocolatey, and has a perfectly fudgy texture. The frosting is also rich and chocolatey, and it complements the brownies perfectly. This cake is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
