Tips:

  • To ensure the steak is cooked to your desired doneness, use a meat thermometer. For medium-rare, cook to an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C). For medium, cook to 145°F (63°C). For medium-well, cook to 155°F (68°C).
  • Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when searing the steak. This will cause the steak to steam rather than sear, resulting in a less flavorful steak.
  • To caramelize the onions, cook them over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Don't rush this process, as it takes time for the onions to develop their sweetness.
  • If you don't have molasses, you can substitute brown sugar or honey.

Conclusion:

This sirloin steak with bacon and molasses-glazed onions is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight dinner. The steak is juicy and flavorful, the bacon adds a smoky flavor, and the molasses-glazed onions are the perfect finishing touch. Serve with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple salad.
