Tips:

  • Choose ripe, flavorful fruit. The better the fruit, the better the buckle will be. Look for pears that are slightly soft to the touch and cherries that are plump and dark red.
  • Use a combination of fruits. Don't be afraid to mix and match different types of fruits. For example, you could use a combination of pears, cherries, and blueberries. Or, you could use a combination of apples, cranberries, and raisins.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the buckle tough. Stir just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the buckle until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This will usually take about 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Serve the buckle warm or at room temperature. The buckle is best served warm or at room temperature. You can top it with whipped cream, ice cream, or a dollop of yogurt.

Conclusion:

Buckles are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert. They're perfect for a weeknight dessert or a special occasion. With a few simple tips, you can make a buckle that is sure to impress your friends and family.
