SLOW COOKER TEXAS TRASH PARTY MIX

Slow Cooker Texas Trash Party Mix image

Ever since I can remember my mother made Texas Trash/Party Mix. I know she found the original recipe on the box of Chex Cereal as I have used it also. It was a snack we all enjoyed year round but especially during the holidays. She always made it as directed and I would pick out the chex cereals as my favorite. I don't know...

Tips for Making the Best Slow Cooker Party Mix:

  • Use a variety of cereals. This will give your party mix a more interesting texture and flavor. Some good options include Chex, Cheerios, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, and Wheat Chex.
  • Add some nuts and seeds. Nuts and seeds will add a crunchy texture and healthy fats to your party mix. Some good options include peanuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds.
  • Don't forget the dried fruit. Dried fruit will add a sweet and chewy texture to your party mix. Some good options include raisins, cranberries, cherries, blueberries, and apricots.
  • Use a variety of seasonings. Seasonings will help to flavor your party mix and make it more interesting. Some good options include salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder, and cumin.
  • Cook your party mix on low heat for 2-3 hours. This will help to ensure that the cereal and nuts are evenly coated in the seasonings and that the dried fruit is softened.
  • Stir your party mix every 30 minutes or so. This will help to prevent the cereal and nuts from sticking together.
  • Let your party mix cool completely before serving. This will help to make it easier to store and transport.

Conclusion:

Slow cooker party mix is a delicious and easy-to-make snack that is perfect for parties and gatherings. It is also a great way to use up leftover cereal, nuts, and dried fruit. With a little planning and preparation, you can make a slow cooker party mix that everyone will love.
