Tips:

  • For a creamy and flavorful spread, use high-quality mayonnaise and cream cheese. Opt for full-fat options to ensure a rich and decadent taste.
  • If you prefer a tangy spread, use a zesty Thousand Island dressing instead of mayonnaise. You can also add a dash of Dijon mustard or horseradish for an extra kick.
  • For a smoky flavor, use deli-sliced pastrami or corned beef that has been smoked. You can also add a teaspoon of liquid smoke to the spread for a similar effect.
  • If you don't have sauerkraut on hand, you can use coleslaw mix or finely shredded cabbage. Just be sure to drain off any excess moisture before adding it to the spread.
  • For a cheesy spread, add a handful of shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese. You can also use a combination of cheeses for a more complex flavor.
  • Serve the Reuben spread on rye bread, crackers, or your favorite bread or bagel. You can also use it as a dip for vegetables or chips.
