MIJO'S SLOW COOKER SHREDDED BEEF

Mijo's Slow Cooker Shredded Beef image

This makes an incredibly tender shredded beef with a Mexican flair. It takes quite a bit of time to make, but the slow cooker does all the work, and it's well worth the wait. It's great on tortillas, in sandwiches, and even in soup. Go easy on the hot pepper sauce if you don't like spicy food.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef: Chuck roast, brisket, and rump roast are all good choices for slow cooker shredded beef. These cuts are tough and flavorful, and they become tender and fall-apart when cooked slowly.
  • Brown the beef before cooking: Browning the beef before cooking helps to develop flavor and color. You can brown the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat or in the slow cooker on the high setting.
  • Add plenty of liquid to the slow cooker: The liquid helps to keep the beef moist and flavorful. You can use water, beef broth, or a combination of both.
  • Add seasonings to the slow cooker: You can add a variety of seasonings to the slow cooker to flavor the beef. Some popular choices include garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Cook the beef on low heat for 8-10 hours: The low heat will help to tenderize the beef and make it fall apart easily.
  • Shred the beef before serving: Once the beef is cooked, you can shred it with two forks. You can serve the shredded beef on its own or use it in a variety of dishes, such as tacos, burritos, and sandwiches.

Conclusion:

Slow cooker shredded beef is a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a busy weeknight. With a few simple ingredients and a little time, you can have a tender and flavorful meal that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dinner, give slow cooker shredded beef a try.
