1 can (16 oz) Old El Paso™ refried beans
1 can (10 oz) Old El Paso™ enchilada sauce
1 package (1 oz) Old El Paso™ 40% Less-Sodium Taco Seasoning Mix
1 jar (16 oz) Old El Paso™ Thick 'n Chunky salsa
25 hot dog or bratwurst buns, split
3 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend (12 oz)
3 cups shredded lettuce
2 large tomatoes, chopped (2 cups)
1 container (12 oz) sour cream

Steps:

  • In 12-inch skillet, cook beef over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain. In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, place beef. Stir in refried beans, enchilada sauce, taco seasoning mix and salsa.
  • Cover and cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours.
  • To serve, fill each bun with about 1/3 cup beef mixture and top with cheese, lettuce, tomato and sour cream.

3 lbs ground beef (browned & drained)
32 oz refried beans ((2 - 16 oz cans))
10 oz can enchilada sauce
1 oz pkg taco seasoning ((some packets have 1.5 oz))
16 oz jar salsa
25 hot dog buns (split)
Garnish: shredded Cheddar cheese (shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sour cream)

Steps:

  • Pour ground beef in slow cooker, then add 1 can of refried beans, enchilada sauce, taco seasoning and salsa. Cook on low for 4-6 hours depending on your slow cooker. After cooked, stir in the other can of refried beans.
  • To serve, fill each bun with 1/3 cup of Taco Joe mixture and garnish as desired.
